Since my last blog, i've had problems with my eyes...
The doctor, hospital and nurse all thought it was blepharitis.
But it was conjunctivitus, as it all came back again 3 weeks ago, and so i went back to the doctor and he prescribed maxidex.
Most uncomfortable, and people couldnt look at me as my eyes where so bloodshot.
Not very impressed with Luton and Dunstable, it has to be said.
A rambling blog covering, gardening, computing, employment and anything else thats currently in my realm of having issues with :-)

The flower on this cacti only lasts for 2 days at most...then it closes up and can be cut off.
Been busily out using the lawnraker to get the moss out of the lawn, had 6 loads of it...not surprising i guess considering the wet weather.
Hot water plants are still flowering in the front room, but are coming to their end now.
Was a crash outside our house today, three cars involved, one looked very much the worse for wear

Back garden 2.10.2007
Went out into the backgarden today, the calendula and anemones - white, are looking lovely, they love the damp mornings and the lack of sun.
Talking of lack of sun, saw that the african violets that i had taken cuttings off are just showing new plantlets at the bottom of them...this year has been incredibly slow as the light levels have been so poor.
Next year must remember that on my cold wet clay soil the early potatoes are a dead loss, i'm better of planting maincrop potatoes and harvesting later.
Spent most of the autumn pruning back all the growth due to the long spells of rain...some of the asters or michaelmas daisies have been swamped by other things, so they're not as good as other years where i've managed to give the other plants a haircut before they've overgrown the asters...oh well.
On the plus side i have some wonderful beetroot
This is a heritage variety called Chioggia Pink, eats just like the ordinary red types.
Lovely with white sauce.
I use the leaves from beetroot as a spinach substitute, if anything they are nicer

Currently unemployed so job hunting...
But in a few breaks have been out and done some gardening, which was fun.
Bought a pot and made it up with a bottlebrush plant that i had grown from seed a few years ago, not sure of the colour of it as it was a mixed packet of seed.
As contracting never sure when i will be working next, so best to crack on and get things done when there is a gap.
As usual been doing loads of reading, enjoy reading the paper, even if its not very cheery.
